We are located in Silver Lake on Hyperion Avenue, one block North of Rowena.

How many kids per group?

We cap groups at 14 campers.
We have 2 adults at the studio and 3 adults when we’re on location.

Who are the instructors?

All instructors are working photographers who have been teaching for many years.

Is this camp good for beginners?

Yes — most campers start as beginners. We tailor instruction to each student’s level.

What should they bring to camp?

  • Camera + Battery (fully charged each day)
  • Memory card (must be empty)
  • Water bottle, sun protection, sneakers, layers, etc
  • Lunch or $15 to buy lunch

Attendance & Rates

Do you offer day rates?

Yes, we offer partial weeks at $150/day.

What if I have to cancel enrollment?

We offer partial refunds depending on how far in advance you cancel. Full details are available on our Policies page.

What if my child misses a day during the week?

Missing one day will not interrupt the lesson plan for the week. Your camper will not fall behind. If you anticipate missing a day during the week, we encourage you to sign up for a partial week.

I’m not sure my child will enjoy camp…

If your child is unsure, we recommend you try one or two days with us first.
Once the week begins, we’re unable to offer full-week refunds.

Hours & Location

Where is drop off and pick up?

  • Monday and Friday are always at the studio in Silver Lake.
  • Tuesday – Thursday: at least 2 of those days are on location.
  • Location days: Drop off and pick up is always at the same place.

What is your schedule for the week?

  • Each week is different at APC to keep it fresh for our returning campers.
  • You will receive the schedule for the week a few days before camp begins.

May I stay during camp?

  • Parents may join us on the first day for up to 30 minutes.
  • Family is always invited to attend the Photo Exhibit on Friday which begins at 2:45pm.

Do you offer aftercare?

Camp runs from 9am – 3pm

  • Extended Care (EC) begins at 8am and ends at 5pm.
  • EC is available for $50/hour. You can sign up HERE.
  • Requests for EC must be received prior to the beginning of camp that day.
  • EC begins at 3:15, please give us a call if you are running late.

Cameras & Photos

Does my child need a camera to attend camp?

Most campers bring their own, but it’s not required.
We provide cameras for $10/day

Do we get to keep the photos my child made during the week?

Yes, absolutely! Parents receive a link to a private gallery with photos from all campers.
In the gallery you will can select favorites, share, download and print.

What kind of camera should I buy my child?

Here are a few beginner-friendly cameras we recommend:

Please contact us before enrolling so we can talk through your child’s needs and make sure it’s a good fit.

What if my child has a special diet?

  • If your child has dietary restrictions, please pack appropriate lunch.
  • If you are buying lunch, please research nearby options in the neighborhood we are visiting.
  • We will do our best to accommodate.

Does my child need to be vaccinated?

As of January 2021, CA state regulation requires that all campers be fully vaccinated.
